School – Children’s group

The castle is entirely designed for young audiences, notably thanks to adapted content, challenging in substance but made accessible by the scenography techniques.
Several options are available:
self-guided or guided tours, access to play areas (wooden games, medieval costumes for souvenir photos!), archery initiation, trebuchet shooting demonstration…half-day or full-day tours.

Along a visit of around ten rooms in two buildings (2 wings of the castle and its former stables), visitors get acquainted with Poitou history.
From Antiquity to nowadays, each period of time is mentioned in a didactic way, through animated films, models, monumental projections and a dynamic mural…
Two immersive movie experiences highlight key moments in order to understand the Poitevin Middle Age: “Le banquet d’Aliénor” and “La Guerre de Cent ans”.

On a 18 meters long screen, experience one of the most turbulent times of the late Middle Ages: the Hundred Years’ War.
History in a nutshell, dynamic and exciting, in a 360° room
